GRANULATED FERTILIZER OR GRANULE MIXTURE?

Resumo

The assertive management of soil nutrients through fertilization is essential for the success of agriculture. In this sense, maximizing the cost/benefit ratio when deciding which fertilizer to choose in market is an important decision. The main of this research was to evaluate the effect of supplying fertilizers based on nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P) and sulfur (S) on soybean growth and production components. An experiment was carried out in Nova Esperança-PR. Treatments: the combined application of N, P and S in the sowing furrow, providing (MAP; 52-12-00) in a mixture with S (Elemental + Sulphate) as a source of nutrients, and 10-46 -00+ 9S containing N, P and S in the same granule and a control without fertilizer application in the furrow. Potassium was provided by broadcast application (V2) in all experimental units. The components of production, soil, and nutrients in plant tissue were analyzed. The results were submitted to the test of normality and homogeneity of variance, and later to the analysis of variance by the F test at 5% of probability through the R program. The general productivity of the test can be considered good (3.24 t ha-1 ), since the area was formerly cultivated with cassava in an almost absent fertilization system. Grain yield was strongly affected between the control treatment and the others with fertilizer containing S. There was no difference in grain yield between treatments with MAP+S and NPS. Differences found in the weight of a thousand seeds and in the percentage of pods with 2 grains indicate that the difference in grain yield can be partially explained due to the production of heavier seeds and higher rate of fertilization of grains inside the pods. The supply of S in different forms resulted in a difference only in the weight of a thousand seeds. The MAP+S mixture resulted in a higher thousand seed weight compared to the NPS fertilizer. Therefore, in this case the mixture was as good as the nutrients in a single granule.
